Classic
Venice
Venice is approximately 1500 years old and despite a shrinking
population still attracts 12 million visitors a year. Here
we depict a busy canal off of the Grand Canal. While the
Grand Canal is the equivalent of a main highway through
town, the side canals serve as smaller, but still busy,
"streets" or boulevards into the residential areas of Venice.
Indeed there are over 170 canals in Venice which separate
118 islands. The islands are themselves are interconnected
by approximately 400 bridges. |
