St
Mark's Square Venice
Overlooked by an enormous Bell Tower St Mark’s Square
is visited by 12 million vistors every year… Byron
referred to St Mark’s Square as “the greatest
drawing room in Europe”and Napoleon called it the
finest square in Italy. These days Piazza San Marco is a
wonderful place to chill out and watch the world go by whilst
enjoying an overpriced cappuccino or ice cream. St Marks
is synomous with pigeons and one nearly always seems to
stray into your photos of St Marks. Indeed the pigeons have
become the symbol of this vibrant and romantic focal point
of Venetian life.
