How to get to The Danieli Hotel Venice in Italy

By Train |
The
Danieli Hotel is near Piazza San Marco which is at the far
end of the Grand Canal. Unfortunately or fortunately as the
case may be if arriving by train you must take the water bus
or a water taxi the length of the grand canal before arriving
at the Hotel Danieli. Venice Island's main railway station
is called Santa Lucia (do not alight at Venice Mestre train
station which is the stop before Venice Island.) Upon exiting
Santa Lucia railway station you will see the Grand Canal.
To reach the Danieli Hotel you can either hire a private water
taxi which are available from the waterfront immediately outside
the railway station or you can take a Vaporetto or Water Bus
no. 51 which pass frequently and only in one direction. The
Vaporetto water bus takes 22 minutes to reach the hotel and
you should alight at the 4th stop Zaccaria. Alternatively
private transfers with a hostess can also be organized. Please

By Car |
We do not suggest that you bring your car to Venice Island.
The nearest parking to the Danieli Hotel is at Venice Piazzale
Roma. From the motorway follow the signs to Venezia. After
The bridge della liberta - approx. 2 miles after exiting motorway
- proceed to the Car parking facilities at Piazzale Roma.
From here you can either take a water taxi or the Vaporetto
i.e. Water Bus

By Air |
Proceed
to the Starwood Hotels Welcome Desk which is located in the
airport arrivals lounge. Here guests can organise to take
the Starwood Motor Launch directly to the hotel. The service
is run in conjunction with major flight arrivals in Venice,
however it is not guaranteed and cannot be reserved (the desk
is open from 9h00 to 17h30). Alternatively, guests may take
a private water taxi to the hotel (approx. cost 85 Euro for
4 people in 2003) NB the new air terminal at Marco Polo airport
is now located a few km from the waterfront making a shuttle
bus journey necessary for those travellers wishing to reach
the Hotel Danieli by private motor launch. NB private transfers

From Boat or Cruise Ship |
Private water taxis are available from the Venice Maritime
station.The berths dedicated to the mooring of yachts are
found at Riva 7 Martiri, a few minutes away from the hotel
in taxi. Private water taxis are also available from the cruise
ship port (St. Basilio) to the hotel. Cruise ship guests should
make arrangements with the chief purser on board the Cruise
Ship to organize a private transfer.
